As we leave summer behind us, the leaves slowly losing their vibrant green colors, we move into Autumn. Personally, from a clothing perspective, my favorite season. Autumn calls for layering and opens the opportunity to get a bit more creative than shorts with a tee and flip-flops. An essential item for those colder months is a great coat! Now a coat can be a big investment, however, choosing the right brand to ensure you’re set for the future! But what should you choose? Well, if you want my advice, take a look at g-lab! My go-to brand for coats over the last few years has been g-lab. Beautiful outerwear that combines contemporary fashion and urban design with high-tech functionality. They have an extensive collection, but today we are going to look at four coats from their AW21 collection to give you a feel of what you can expect from g-lab.
Supreme Weatherwear collection AW21
g-lab chose to focus on creating elaborate pieces that combined ease of use and considered lines. The result is a collection that is straightforward, with a dash of the unexpected resulting in pieces that work in day-to-day city life but is well suited for long walks through the forest as well. Personally, that is exactly why I’m such a big fan of g-lab. Their designs are so clean, and in the meantime, you are wearing a “performance” piece, ready to battle the elements and support you in an active lifestyle.
The AW21 is not only the largest collection of new styles in g-lab’s history, but it also sees g-lab take a big step towards their environmental goals. With the introduction of their newly developed “ECO TECH” fabric, g-lab is releasing its first collection of sustainable styles. ECO TECH is crafted from 100% recycled Nylon. Together with the 70% PCR recycled Primaloft, three men’s styles are now fitted all sustainably. And two of those we will be reviewing today!
Commander II
Initially part of g-lab’s first collection, the COMMANDER is back! Shown here in the Dark Mud color (love this new color in their collection), the COMMANDER II is crafted with the brand-new ECO TECH fabric.
Receiving a light design make-over, the COMMANDER II is a modern interpretation of the iconic field jacket. I really liked the bigger pockets, ensuring that I have enough space for my junk ;-) But what you don’t see… is that these pockets are fleece-lined, keeping your hands warm! Combine that with the detachable merino collar, you are ready for those colder days!

GLOBE III
One of my favorite designs of the AW21 collection ( My Eclipse coat shares similar design traits) is the Globe is back! Back and better than ever, the GLOBE III is now also available in the new ECO TECH Fabric. The 3-layer outer shell material is crafted of 100% recycled Nylon and fitted with a 100% recycled Polyester lining and the 70% PCR recycled PrimaLoft® insulation.
What I like about the GLOBE III besides its extremely clean design is the fact that its inner Thermo lining can be removed quickly and easily so that the jacket can be used from autumn through winter to late spring. Combine this fact with its straightforward design and you have got yourself a coat that can be worn in any occasion.

PEAK
The PEAK, just one look at this coat, and you already know you are ready for snow blizzards! With its PrimaLoft® padding, the PEAK will keep you warm at -25 degrees. And although it’s made for the heavier winter conditions, it’s surprisingly light to wear. Another surprise is the fabric. The name already gives it away, soft touch, and it really is very very soft
Keeping its design lines simple, the PEAK does things differently by bringing in the quilted look to set itself apart available in three colors in the AW21 collection, this is definitely a coat to consider if you are facing harsh winters!

HALLEY II
And last but not least, HALLEY II is my choice for this AW season. This robust parka with a large storm hood will keep you warm and dry throughout the iciest weather and is actually the warmest piece of the collection
Available in tech touch fabric and in combat wool fabric, I opted for the Combat Wool version. Combat wool is a luxurious Merino wool reinforced with INVISTA nylon fibers, creating a rich look and soft feel. Combined with the PrimaLoft® Silver lining and you know HALLEY II will keep you warm while offering the highest breathability. Design-wise, HALLEY II offers a straight silhouette, a large storm hood, and comes with multiple pockets ensuring you have all the space you need. And if you need some extra room for movement, two zippers on the side will give you that extra movement when need
